Venezuela′s Juan Guaido urges military to allow in aid | News | DW

Venezuela’s interim President Juan Guaido on Wednesday urged the military to choose between “a dictatorship that does not have an iota of humanity, or to side with the constitution.”

The key Tienditas International Bridge at the Colombian border was blocked on Wednesday, stopping trucks carrying much-needed humanitarian aid from entering the country.

According to Colombian officials, a giant orange tanker and two large blue containers were placed across highway lanes, along with makeshift fencing, by Venezuelan soldiers.

Acting President Nicolas Maduro has long rejected foreign humanitarian intervention, claiming it amounts to an outside intervention.

More to come.
